Dia De Los Muertos Festival Information and Vendor Application

Dear Prospective Vendors:

Día de los Muertos (The Day of the Dead) is a Mexican holiday that pre-dates the arrival of

Columbus to the New World. The holiday is traditionally celebrated November 1-2, and is a

festive, joyful remembrance of those who’ve passed. During this time, we, the living, leave

offerings to the guests of honor, the deceased, such as their favorite meals or drinks, flowers,

pastries, and other gifts. It is a time of celebration, not mourning. Galveston LULAC Council

151 will be celebrating this holiday on Saturday, October 28, 2023, from 1pm to 9pm at the

beautiful Galveston Courthouse Plaza, located at 722 Moody Ave (21st Street) in historic

Galveston, Texas. The 3rd Annual Día de los Muertos Festival will include an altar and

ceremony dedicated to our departed loved ones, live music, local student folklorico dance groups,

traditional Azteca dancers, food & drink booths, arts/crafts vendors, children’s games, and

more. With this in mind, we are hoping to bring area businesses and the community together with one common goal, the future of our youth. Proceeds from this FREE ADMISSION event go to the LULAC Student Scholarship Program Fund. Our Día de los Muertos Festival provides an excellent opportunity to display your brand as well as network with other businesses and prospective
