Council #151 LULAC President, Robert Quintero, addresses the crowd at JFK memorial event

Just more than 60 years ago, John F Kennedy, address the national LULAC organization in Houston, TX. This event marked an important time where politicians began to recognize the concerns of the latino community...after all, it has become a very important voting bloc in the grand scheme of national and local elections. Each year, this impromptu visit by JFK, just before his untimely and tragic assassination in Dallas Texas, is remembered locally. John F Kennedy was a great friend of the hispanic community, and in many ways, still is.
