LULAC 151 held its annual fundraiser-celebration for Hispanic culture in front of the Galveston county courthouse. Thousands attended to partake in merriment, good food and great friends. An all star musical lineup was present, Aztec dancers revered in old traditions, young people danced in the Ballet Folclorico, children played with the goats and all enjoyed the ever-flowing Margaritas. This festival is first a foremost a celebration of the richness of our Galveston community and we are committed to building that community up through our scholarship fund. LULAC 151 raised thousands of dollars from this festival to help empower the next generation of Galveston leaders and community-builders. We hope to see more people participate and give back through partaking in our next festival-fundraiser Dia de los Muertos in October. Let’s have fun while we build up our community!
